Abstract

Teachers play a strategic role in developing students' intellectual abilities in integrated Islamic elementary schools through learning that integrates academic aspects and Islamic values. This study aims to describe the role of teachers in developing students' intellectual abilities and the learning strategies applied in the context of integrated Islamic elementary schools. The method used is a literature study by analyzing various relevant and reliable scientific journals. Data were analyzed descriptively to identify the role of teachers, learning approaches, and supporting and inhibiting factors in the development of students' intellectual abilities. The results of the study indicate that teachers act as facilitators, motivators, guides, and role models in the learning process. The development of students' intellectual abilities is carried out through the implementation of active learning, strengthening critical and creative thinking, integrating the national curriculum with Islamic values, and the use of authentic media and assessments. However, there are challenges in the form of limited teacher competency, infrastructure, and differences in student characteristics. Therefore, improving teacher competency based on Islamic values is an important factor in supporting successful learning.
